It’s said Jesus walked on water, but this Priest sang and ripped around the church on a hoverboard during Christmas Eve Mass.
The Philippine Roman Catholic Church has suspended Rev. Albert San Jose for busting out his hover board to help liven up the performance.
The priest was videotaped delivering his unusual sermon in San Pablo, Laguna, to scattered applause and amusement.A statement by the diocese posted on Facebook read: "As a way of greeting his parishioners, the priest sang a Christmas song, while going around the nave standing on a hoverboard. That was wrong.” It said the priest was trying to "capriciously introduce something to get the attention of the people" and that he would now spend some time reflecting on his actions.
The video of the stunt went viral, and the diocese is not impressed.
Yahoo News reports officials say that Mass is super serious and “demands utmost respect and reverence.” I guess hoverboards don’t fall under the “respect and reverence” category? Who knew.
Viewers of the Facebook post seemed to be split on the issue, with some commending the diocese's stern action, while others said the church needed to do things like this to attract youngsters.
