Thieves bored a hole in the ceiling of a Brooklyn bank and stole about $280,000 over the weekend, police said.
Employees at the HSBC branch in Borough Park got to the office Monday morning and discovered that someone had carved a hole through the ceiling leading into the vault, according to the NYPD.
Authorities said about $280,000 was taken from the bank, at 14th Avenue and 44th Street.
The bank was closed Monday as investigators went through looking for any evidence that could lead to whoever pulled off the heist.
