Police are investigating after they say they found a animal head in a strip club parking lot in eastern Connecticut on Wednesday night.
A club patron found the animal head at about 7:30 p.m. outside the Ultraviolet Adult Cabaret Cafe on Main Street in Willimantic.
Animal control officers responded to retrieve the animal head, which police believe may be from a cow or horse. The animal control officer couldn't determine the species of the head, but said it was some type of livestock.
Police are waiting for a veterinarian to determine the species. It appears to have been there for awhile and was decomposed, police said.
There are no farms in the city, so police aren't sure of its origin. They are investigating it as a possible animal cruelty case.
Investigators canvassed the area, but couldn't find the rest of the carcass.
Police are interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from businesses to determine how the animal head got there.
Willimantic police ask anyone with information to call the department at 860-465-3135.
